Scientists in Mrs. Duke's and Mrs. Bosarge's classes explored the fascinating world of owls by dissecting owl pellets! Students carefully examined the contents, identified bones, and reconstructed skeletons to create imaginary creatures. This hands-on investigation helped them understand food chains, predator-prey relationships, and the role of decomposers in ecosystems.

PreK students visited Arkema, our partner in education, to sing for the employees. Students were treated to a gift from Santa. It was a fun experience for everyone!

Thank you to everyone who provided treats for Arkema, our partner in education! They were appreciative of the treats.

Students in Mrs. Holland's 4th grade class practiced measuring skills to create no sew knot blankets.

Session 1 Tutoring ends tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 11th.

Ms. Weaver’s 2nd graders played a Gingerbread Time to the 5 Minutes board game, and they LOVED it! 🍪🎲
Students rolled the dice, moved their game piece around the board, read the analog clocks, and then marked off the matching digital times in the center. They were so excited to show what they’ve learned🎄🕒

What would’ve happened if the Gingerbread Man crossed the river without the fox? 🤔🍪
Friday, Ms. Owens' class changed the ending of the story and brought our text to life! In a hands-on experiment students discovered what really happens when a gingerbread man hits the water… and let’s just say, the results were dramatic!
Students used their sense of touch to feel the gingerbread man turning soggy, and their sense of sight when—before they knew it—he was GONE!

On Friday, our second-grade students took part in a Vocabulary Parade. Each student selected a vocabulary word and dressed up to represent it. We are proud of the creativity and talent demonstrated by our students at MJE.

Mrs. Davis was proud to present a PERFECT SCORE plaque to 3rd grader, Olivia Renihan. Olivia made a perfect score on the 2025 ACAP Summative Math Assessment during the Spring of her 2nd grade year. Olivia's goal was a perfect score and we are proud to celebrate her success. She is pictured with her 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Qualls and her current teacher Mrs. Rushing. Help us congratulate her on this great achievement!

Ms. Owens' second graders have been reading The Gingerbread Man, so what better way to celebrate National Cookie Day than with a delicious gingerbread cookie? 🍪✨

Today, Miss Byrd's kindergarten class worked hard at combining festive fun with important literacy skills.
They practiced writing letters to Santa as part of a lesson on sentence structure and clear communication. They focused on starting their letters with a proper greeting, forming complete sentences and adding details to express their thoughts! This activity not only encouraged creativity, but also reinforced essential writing skills in an engaging & seasonal way. 🎄🎅🏻
