Mrs. Qualls’ 2nd-grade class created self-portraits for their leadership binders. Students used mirrors to closely observe their facial features. They talked through what they noticed, one facial feature at a time. Their eye color, different-shaped lips, freckles, and different shades of color were some of those features. The students felt successful with their finished works and even photographed some of them. This self-portrait assignment should increase their need to slow down and be more observant with their work, and spark interest and confidence for the building of their binders this year.

Attention, all girls 3rd-5th grade who would like to try out for youth developmental league volleyball: Tryouts will be Wednesday 8/20 and Thursday 8/21 in the gym. They will be directly after school and we will be done by 5. This is a youth league team, not a school team. Any girls wanting to tryout will need a parent note stating they can stay after school on the above dates. Again this is a youth league and not a school team. Thanks so much!

No cars can enter the carline lanes once the dismissal bell rings. Park in overflow (grass area), and remain in your car until you are directed by staff to enter the carline area for loading.
No cars can travel around the campus until the buses are fully loaded.
Carline lane 1 is reserved for Kindergarten only during dismissal.

First Day of School Transportation Bus Procedures
Please arrive a few minutes early to your assigned bus stop. Morning Carline Procedures-7:15-7:30 Follow the directions of the school staff directing traffic. Do NOT let any students out of the car until the staff instructs you to do so. 1st Day ONLY parking and walking students in... PREK-2nd preferred 7:30-7:50 Park on the grass area until staff has the carline CLEAR and REMAIN in your car until the carline is clear. At this point, staff will direct you to exit your car. Enter ONLY through the office doors. Staff will open the carline lot for parking once the carline is clear.

Kindergarten students who are registered for the upcoming school year do not want to miss this opportunity!
Please send your child a lunch on Monday.
Drop off on Monday, July 21st will be in the back of the school, in the morning ONLY. Thereafter it will be in front of the school. Look for the signs. The teachers will be verifying your child's name on the roster before you leave. Remember they must be registered/enrolled for McDavid Jones in order to be on the roster. Please read the image below for more information.

Mark your calendar-
Meet the Teacher will be held in the gym Thursday, August 7th. Students must be registered by 7/31/25 to be placed on a class roll. This is a great time to bring school supplies, pick up clear backpack, purchase spirit shirts, pay the $5.00 school fee, and complete transportation forms.
We will stagger the times based on last name to assist with wait times. Follow the schedule below:
Last names with letters A-M 3:30-4:30
Last names with letters N-Z 4:30-5:30
If your family has students with multiple last names, pick one time to attend.
